Screen Time

Screen time is a personal choice for every family, but I personally prefer waiting as long as possible before introducing it. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends avoiding screen time for children below 2 years, except for occasional video calls with family. After 2 years, if screen time is introduced, it is best to keep it limited and mindful. For young children, I personally prefer a maximum of around 30 minutes a day, with calm and low-stimulation content.

The type of content matters just as much as the amount of screen time. I prefer slow-paced, gentle shows that encourage imagination, emotional learning, creativity, curiosity, and calmness instead of fast-moving and overstimulating content. Below are some of the shows I personally selected because they are softer, more peaceful, and more meaningful for young children.

Bluey

Excellent for emotional intelligence, family bonding, pretend play, and gentle parenting ideas. One of the best modern toddler shows for both children and parents.

Puffin Rock

One of the calmest and most peaceful children’s shows. Beautiful for nature learning, gentle storytelling, emotional calmness, and soft speech patterns.

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood

Very helpful for toddlers learning emotions, routines, sharing, potty training, waiting, frustration, and social skills. It teaches practical emotional regulation.

Tumble Leaf

Very good for curiosity, problem-solving, and imagination. It teaches cause and effect in a calm way and encourages children to think instead of just passively watching.

Little Bear

Very calm and imagination-based. Good for creativity, friendship, storytelling, and quiet play ideas.

Kipper

Extremely calm and gentle. Good for toddlers because it is slow-paced and emotionally soft.

Trash Truck

Very calm and emotionally warm. Encourages friendship, imagination, curiosity, and gentle humor.

About Mamalogue

Mamalogue is a personal blog created from my own pregnancy and early motherhood journey, shaped by the routines I followed, the research I did, and the lessons I learned as a first-time mom. It’s a calm, honest space where I share real experiences, simple tips, baby nutrition ideas, and product suggestions, with the hope of helping other mothers feel supported. Everything here is based on what worked for me and is shared as personal experience, not medical advice, in a soft, minimal style that reflects the peaceful side of motherhood.
